Hello JoeRose,
I am trying to find information on how to get the SRX card to work under OSX Leapord. I know its been done before but requires modifying some of the paramters of the OS. Ill find that info for you.
Thanks,
Mike

Hey Joe,
Take out the SRX card. If you can still connect then you know that your using the internal still.
Thanks,
Mike

I did that and Its still using the internal card. I've deleted the AirPortAtheros.kext as instructions in the link you gave me said.
What am I missing here?
Thanks.

Hey Joe,
I am not 100% sure what the problem may be. I followed those instructions here and it worked for me. Is it possible for you to email the author?
Thanks,
Mike

I can't find his contact info anywhere on the site.
This is really annoying, I followed the instructions on the site, I even tried making the Airport inactive and then active again, as the new addition for leopard users says, but this also didn't solve the problem.
have you tried it on Macbook pro running Leopard ?

Maybe you can send me your io80211family file. It's possible I don't have the latest version of the diver because my Leopard is upgraded from Tiger.
Thanks

Hi JoeRose,
I'm not using this card. So I can't be of much help. But Have you tryed to find the adapter using the "Network Utility".
On the info tab you can select en0 for your ethernet adapter, en1 for your internal wireless and if you don't have any other interface ( fisical or virtual), en2 should be the external card.
If it is not present there probably is because it is not correctly recognized.
Regards.

Truly, en2 does not present there. I have en0, en1 and fw0 (which is the Firewire port I guess). What can I do to make It recognize my card?
Thanks,
Joe.

Hello Joe,

Try this link.

This link provides users of MacOS Leopard 10.5.1 with a viable solution, it seems. Unfortunately, many Mac users (such as myself) have updated to 10.5.6 and the page you link to claims that there's no known solution for 10.5.3 or newer versions of Leopard.
Does anyone know of any solution? I've spent about 2 days on it and I'm still researching. The closest I have come is:
http://allmyreviews.info/?x=entry:entry081203-094446
but I can't get his procedure to work for me. The IO80211family.kext file he recommends you download and install results in kernel lockups/panics 95% of the time, and the 5% of the time I _DO_ manage to get booted into the OS, the card/driver does seem to load but does not seem to be broadcasting/transmitting.
I'm going to play around with some linux live CDs for a bit to see if any of them autoconfig this card, ... but presently I've pretty much struck out.
