Hi Guys,
I have just registered into this forum. I am a Hungarian (EUROPE) WISP man. I have many really nice backhaul with 5G Mikrotik dual-nstreme solution. I also need better solution in this licence free range. So as I read many topics I cannot see the real final result of MIMO technics. So I would like to wake up this again. So if anyone have any result (good or bad) please join and share with me (us). I think it would be useful.

Come on guys, you'll be creaming it once we can use this feature!

I bought 2 ls sr71's and 2 sr71-A's and setup on 5.8Ghz 2X2 mimo, 21 Dbi panel antennas on both ends of the link (1 horizontal, 1 vertical at each site)... at 8 miles the link speed was 81 Mbps/ 81 Mbps. and the tcp throughput measured through the device by iperf was 32 Mbps.... not bad .... but, when I moved the same configuration to 22 miles, the best link speed was 12 Mbps / 18 Mbps and the throughput dropped to 180 Kbps (WOW)... It was only then that I noticed the "ack-timeout" /distance bar only slides to 17.2 miles UUUGGH!

I bought these because the datasheet says "Outdoor Range (Antenna Dependent) over 50 miles" So, which is it, 17 miles or 50 miles?

"Up to 50 miles"

etc

Full speeds = 1-10 miles

Half speeds = 25 miles

Half-Half speeds = 50 km

Everything is antenna dependent and halfduplex

So, how do I set the ack-timeout to something greater than 204? Also, I forgot to add that on the shorter test the pings were between 5 and 40 ms and on the 22 mile link they were between 1500 and 10000 ms. I have been reading elsewhere on the forum for sr71-A links, that huge antenna separation is needed, but Mike told me just to use vertical/horizontal separation... I am assuming that if I am using 2 antennas on each side of the link, that 1 will send only and one will receive only on each side with sr71-A. Can anyone confirm this? Can anyone suggest the right gear for a 40 mile link that will give me greater than 10Mbps actual throughput?

U can successfully use XR5, I also bought 2 x lssr71 and would like to make a link of 10 miles of 80Mbps, lssr71 don't have a stable version of os but it works for testing, the hardware is good but the software needs improvement. You use dual polarized dish for mimo 2x2, dish is the best choice for backhauling.
