Default Booting from SD card

Does anyone know how I can test out (I assume it is possible) firmware that I compile by copying it to an SD card and booting from the SDIO slot?

Do I just dd the image to the SD card? If so, any special parameters I need for bs, etc?

Thanks

Default

The "load" command in RouterStation Pro's RedBoot doesn't seem to provide the "disk" option.
I got the following error message. Then, how can we load a file from the SD card?
Does it use a specific bootscript filename, such as "AIAFEXEC.RBS" in other boards?

RedBoot> load -v -m disk hda1:openwrt-ar71xx-vmlinux-initramfs.elf
Invalid 'mode': disk. Valid modes are: fis tftp

p.s. I also tried to format the SD card as EXT2 (was VFAT as default), but it didn't work.
